What to Expect at Redeemer on Sundays
Each week we gather as a church family to hear the Bible read and taught, sing songs containing great truths about the living God, and speak our prayers and requests to God who hears us. The encouragement and challenge of knowing Jesus better stretches us to be loving and looking outward.

When you come we hope you’ll experience a warm welcome. Our meetings involve public prayers and singing; you can participate in these as little or as much as you like.
Our services run somewhere between one to one and a half hours, and everyone present is invited to stay around for a relaxed morning tea which follows.
There is plenty of available parking in the main Hornby High carpark. Metro buses run to The Hub Hornby (a 10 mins walk to HHS), and along Carmen Rd.
A little about us
Redeemer is a church family seeking to know Jesus and make Jesus known.
We are a diverse mix of ordinary people who are amazed by the love of the Lord Jesus Christ. We meet together to hear God speak through the Bible, to praise God together in song, to pray to God who hears us, and to be encouraged to love and serve one another and our world.
Because we believe God’s Holy Spirit works through his word and in us, we gather to be changed. God brings spiritually dead people (such as we were) to new life in Christ; belonging to Jesus means finding the deepest identity a person can find. In Christ we find meaning and purpose for life. We live to serve him in this world, waiting for his return.
We are connected to the new Anglican network in NZ, called the Church of Confessing Anglicans, Aotearoa New Zealand. More about the CCAANZ diocese can be found here.

Sundays at Redeemer
On Sunday morning we meet together as a church family to hear God speak through His Word as the Bible is read and taught. Someone will lead our prayers. We sing great truths about God to build up one another in love. Afterwards, we gather together for morning tea to get to know one another more and to keep talking about what God has spoken to us in His Word.
Redeemer 101
New to Redeemer? Redeemer 101 is an opportunity for you to meet church family and learn what we’re all about. We’re passionate about getting to know new people and sharing what makes our church family tick. Come along, ask questions, and make new friends.
Growth Groups
At Redeemer we enjoy meeting with one another to look into what God has told us in the Bible. We call these Growth Groups and it’s there that we explore and study the Bible together, help each other follow Jesus, and share our lives with one another. Some say it is the heart of what we do at Redeemer so if you’d like to be part of our church family we warmly welcome you to join one of our Growth Groups.
Christianity Explored
Ever wondered what Christianity is all about? Or maybe you’re a Christian and after a refresher? Christianity Explored is a short course run one night a week that looks into the heart of the Christian faith by exploring one of the eye witness accounts of the life of Jesus. It’s interactive but you can be as involved as you choose, and we welcome any questions you might have. The evenings are lots of fun and we invite anyone who might be interested in learning more about Christianity.
