God is generous to us. Christmas is an opportunity to extend generosity to Christians in other parts of the world. Our CCA ‘Mission outside the Diocese’ committee have invited to us to join in a collection to help Anglican Christians in Nigeria finish building necessary classrooms for a high school.
Good Shepherd Academy is a low-fee school, based on Christian values, providing educational opportunities for orphans and other teenagers whose parents can’t otherwise afford schooling.
They are seeking to finish building 8 classrooms to receive 160 students. The pressure to finish these classrooms is that if they do not, they government may reclaim the land.
This Appeal is coordinated by Anglican Relief and Development Fund Australia, with both Aussie and Kiwi Anglican churches aiming to share the $40,000 Australian dollars needed.
You can contribute to this appeal by making a donation into our church account with ‘Christmas Appeal’ in the description. Details for our bank account are found on our Give page.
Here is a good opportunity to express our partnership in the gospel – with churches in Aust and NZ, and to help of brothers and sisters in Christ in Nigeria.
